Community Giving
'One click' process for printing contribution receipts
Cividesk is proud to be an active contributor to the CiviCRM community since 2011. We contribute to the project every month with new code, code fixes, by hosting events and more.
Most recently, Cividesk added a new functionality which gives CiviCRM users the ability to print a contribution receipt directly from the User Dashboard. Until now, only the invoice could be printed from the Dashboard.
More than 420 hours contributed back to CiviCRM in 2018!
Cividesk strongly advocates for community participation and collaboration to work on maintaining continued progress and improvement of CiviCRM.
We pride ourselves on being involved in several aspects of ongoing projects and needs. 2018 has been an eventful year and we are happy to report that we have contributed to CiviCRM in a variety of ways:
Chase the Music
A new member of our Giving Back program
Chase the Music gives children battling critical conditions love, hope, strength and joy. We do this with original music - composed and performed just for them.
The impact of Chase the Music programs begins with the child. The children (that we write and perform for) are undergoing situations that no child should. The gift of a personal commissioned piece of music is like no other. It's unique and created just for that child. Artists are closely aligned with the child to facilitate the creation of truly meaningful music. This alignment gets in their heads and they are changed by the experience.
DrupalCamp Colorado 2018
DrupalCamp Colorado is a three day event centered on knowledge sharing and learning how to build, manage and launch ambitious digital experiences. This year, Cividesk was invited to present CiviCRM and it's integration with Drupal to an audience of web developers and site administrators.
Partners in open source: Contributing back to CiviCRM
Cividesk values the opportunity to support open source initiatives, partly because giving back is a cornerstone of our company culture, but also because we all benefit so much from open source software. Therefore, it is important to us to advocate for more community participation and collaboration to work on maintaining and improving CiviCRM. So, is it worth it to contribute time and effort to CiviCRM? Yes. 100%. And absolutely. Not only does it benefit us, but it also benefits our clients and so many other nonprofits worldwide.
CiviCamps for the Win! Calgary retrospective and lessons learned
Coming back from the Calgary CiviCamp and Sprint, I started reflecting on this fantastic experience and what it takes to create a CiviCRM community. This prompted me to share some thoughts about what makes these events so positive and memorable for all attendees and specifically our end-users.
Customize the Order of Appearance for Relationship Types
Cividesk is proud to be an active contributor to the CiviCRM community since 2011. We contribute to the project every month with new code, code fixes, by hosting events and more.
Most recently, Cividesk added a very helpful functionality that displays the relationships of a contact by order of preference. This allows you to customize which relationship types should be seen at the top based on your chosen priorities. This is particularly useful if a contact has a large amount of relationships so that you can ensure that the most important ones are visible first.
Giving Back: Help Children of India
Help Children of India supports and advocates for India’s most vulnerable people including orphans, rural young women and the aged from Snehalaya Care Campus near Gwalior City, central India.
Snehalaya Care Campus provides:
LYRIC
A new member of our Giving Back program
LYRIC is a small non-profit that is entirely managed by volunteer attorneys. Our mission is to teach youth how to safely exercise their Constitutional rights, and we do so by connecting with schools and community organizations and training volunteer attorneys to teach our curriculum to high schools students.
Ruta Civica
A new member of our Giving Back program
Ruta Civica (Civic Route) is a Mexican volunteer based organization working in civic education and promoting citizen participation in public affairs. Through different campaigns, our mission is to develop the involvement of citizens in the making of the Constitution and laws for Mexico City and its urban planning. Since land zoning, construction and public works decisions have to pursue the public interest. We organize and train neighborhood committees and groups, as well as provide independent technical expert advice on urban and sustainability projects. We also work in educating, preventing and denouncing corruption.
