Community Giving
A Little Help
A new member of our Giving Back Program
A Little Help is a volunteer based nonprofit organization in Denver, Colorado. We started in 2005 as Washington Park Cares when a group of retirees recognized the desire of many seniors in the area to stay in their own homes and contribute to their respective communities. These neighbors based their model on the national village movement, where neighbors coordinate and deliver essential services within their community to allow elders to remain in their homes. In 2007, we incorporated as a 501(c)(3) with the mission of providing older adults with non-medical services essential to maintaining active, productive lives in their own homes within community.
CiviCRM User and Administrator Training at CiviCon
Before every CiviCon there are trainings for both end-users and developers. Steve Kessler, Customer Support Manager at Cividesk is proud to be one of the three volunteer members of the end-user training team. We are working hard to make changes to the curriculum to add relevancy and a better flow.

PermEzone
A new member of our Giving Back program
permEzone turned to Cividesk for help with a contact management and fundraising system needed to support a pilot program. We’re testing the idea of working with permaculture training centers to train and support family farmers in less-industrialized regions of the world. Farmers are trained in the design of sustainable food systems and in the use of mobile phone technology to share knowledge and experience. Over the course of the pilot, we will continue to develop the program based on practical experience in a variety of settings, and work with an independent team of monitors who will evaluate and document the program’s impact, and validate the concept.
The Cividesk fund on Kiva
Cividesk has created a fund on Kiva.org. This fund serves to finance microloans to people around the world living in high poverty areas. Most of these people do not have access to traditional banking systems. By lending them money to purchase land, livestock, tools or items to sell needed to build or expand their business, or giving them the chance to pursue higher studies, we are giving them a chance to escape poverty.

Phoenix Allies for Community Health

Due to circumstances beyond their control related to their previous hosting provider, PACH was recently forced to find a new host for their Joomla website and CiviCRM. In addition, PACH has one volunteer in charge of CiviCRM which manages more than 450 volunteers and supporter contacts. They recognized the need for a solid support team in the event that this volunteer becomes unavailable or is unable to resolve an issue. They had asked several CiviCRM providers, but it was difficult to find one that could host and support Joomla, until they found Cividesk.
Spark Inside
A new member of our Giving Back program
Spark Inside is an innovative new charity supporting young people in the criminal justice system to create more meaningful and productive futures through professional life coaching. Our pilot program was met with significant success; an independent evaluation of our one-to-one coaching program with 8 teenage boys leaving prison showed that one year after they had been released, the re-offending rate was 12.5%, compared to the national average of 70%. We have now worked with over 600 young people in prison.
Home Builders Foundation
A new member of our Giving Back program
When Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver was faced with fatal database errors during a CiviCRM upgrade, they did not know how to deal with this issue.
The Home Builders Foundation’s mission is to provide accessibility solutions and home modifications for individuals with disabilities and financial need through the collaborated efforts of the building industry. Having completed nearly 1,200 projects since 1993, the Foundation operates with a staff of two and a minuscule budget. They could not afford the services of a CiviCRM consultant to repair their database and proceed with the upgrade.
